Ah, the Timberwolves.
The team that everyone could care less about....everyone, that is, except the Thunder. This game is for pride. Indeed, we currently have one of the 9 worst record in NBA History for the first 16 games. Furthermore, if we lose one more game, it will tie a franchise record losing streak. Granted, our franchise is technically only 16 games old, but I guess SuperSonics history stays with us for now. This game is a must win....
But, one must ask, why is it a must win? A must win to avoid becoming the worst franchises in history? Well, the short answer is yes. I mean, there's not much else to strive for at this point. Tank for the lottery? Well, I think we've already done that. There's no way we could ever possibly climb out of the lotterys top 5.
So, I'd just send this message to the players: Win. Keep some fans on your side. Don't become the New York Knicks and have us start hating all of our lazy players. This is one of the very few winnable games that we have, and we've got to not fall to the 72-73 Sixers.
Just save us from more embarassment!
Prediction: Thunder 89, Timberwolves 83
I think our small lineup will work very effectively against them, and well win by a small margin after we experience a 4th quarter collapse.
(I hope everybody had a great Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I got some slammin' savings and turkey, and I hope you did too.)
