Aaaand....there goes our chance at not absolute futility.

With this type of season, the Thunders problems can only be answered by one thing....

LIMBO!!!!

How low can you go? How low can you go?

I know we're all looking at the ESPN worst teams feature. And, at this point, 4 out of the 8 other teams that had our horrible record won. So, we are having one of the 5, read it, 5 worst starts in NBA history. Plus, we have 14 losses in a row, which is a SuperSonics franchise record! This limbo guy has nothing on how low we can go!

In the first quarter, it was a defensive battle, and nobody was scoring at all. In the 2nd-3rd quarters, we had horrible interior defense. I thought thay Brooks's smaller lineup would work, but it floundered to the highest degree. Sure, we were scoring, but no amount of our scoring could keep us in the lead when they were practically waltzing to the basket. And, when they missed, they'd easily rebound it and put it in. Even Gomes was doing it! At one point, they got 3 offensive rebounds in a row.

Look, I know that Brooks seems really intent on keeping Petro and Swift on the bench, but this is a game where they really, really would've come in handy. I mean, if it could've stopped 3 or 4 more baskets, it would have tremendously helped our cause. I know the guys on the radio show after the game were trying to put it on freethrows, but with how Craig Smith and Kevin Love were bricking it from the other end, but a couple of bricks on our side really didn't make the difference. I'm not saying that they need to start, and I'm not even saying to put Petro and Swift back into the rotation every game. But in this case, even Sene would have been a great help. Joe Smith, Chris Wilcox, and Nick Collison tried their best, but in the end, they're both Power Forwards, and not Centers.

In the 4th, Miller and Telfair let loose for a rain of 3s. This probably wouldn't have worked the entire game, but for a quarter, it was excellent. The Thunder relied on a whole lot of Durant and Wilcox, and that also worked well. But even though Joe Smith had a nice dunk, Jeff Green hit a clutch 3, and Kevin Durant tied it with a dunk, it still wasn't enough. Russell Westbrook missed a freethrow, but we still would have lost by 1 had he hit it. The Timberwolves had a really nice game winner from Mike Miller, and that was that. The energy was gone, Al Jefferson held up his fists in celebration, Mike Miller was hip-bumping, and the Thunder had another loss. 1-16, just rolls off the tounge, doesn't it?

Anyway, without further ado, on to the awards....

The Thunder Wonder goes to Chris Wilcox tonight, no question. Sure, Durant had the game-tying dunk, but Chris Wilcox got most of his points in the 4th, and did it in 10 less overall minutes. 21 Points, 8-13 shooting, 7 Assists, 3 Rebounds, and a foul out rounds out his night.

Jeff Green has taken up ballet!

The Thunder Down Under goes to Jeff Green. I know, Durant had a great dunk, but Green just had a better overall game. He also hit a clutch 3, and had 3 steals (mostly during desperate stretches of the game) compared to Durants 0. 22 Points, 8-13 Shooting, 4-6 3 Pointers, 2-4 Free Throws, 4 Rebounds, and 3 Assists round out his night. The 3rd star of the game goes to Kevin Durant, with 22 Points, 7-18 Shooting, 3-6 3 Pointers, 5-6 Free Throws, 4 Rebounds, and 3 Assists.

The Thunder Blunder goes to Damien Wilkins. Sure, Earl Watson had a bad game, but it was more of a "do-nothing" game rather than a "negative effect" game. Mason also did poorly, but his defensive performance makes up for it. Wilkins, on the other hand, Shot 1-4, had a -15 +/- Ratio, 2 Rebounds, 1 Assist, and 1 Turnover. The key here is the -15 +/- Ratio in a little over 15 minutes. That's pretty bad.

The Thunder Plunderer goes to Mike Miller. His stats were par for the course, but when you hit a game winning jumper that's 0.1 seconds away from being a buzzer beater, you deserve it, even next to some beastly Al Jefferson and Craig Smith performances. 18 Points, 8-17 Shooting, 2-4 3 Pointers, 8 Rebounds, 4 Assists, and 5 nasty turnovers cap off his night. And also props to our Thunder Plunderer Down Under, Al Jefferson, with 19 Points, 6-12 Shooting, 7-8 Free Throws, 9 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 2 Turnovers, and 2 Blocks.

Next Game: Saturday, November 29th, at Memphis.

Lets beat the Gwizzlies!!!! Please!!!!

Oh, and also, please get rid of the ugly pink Thundersticks!!!!

Do....you....want....a....hug?
