Coming off an unbelievable homestand in which they took 2 1/2 victories out of 4, the Thunder will try to take their show on the road. God of Thunder is glad this game is tonight instead of tomorrow, or else it might conflict with the National Championship Game! Boomer Freakin' Sooner Baby! Now that we got that out of the way, let's get back to the game at hand, which happens to be the direct opposite of the national championship. It should be interesting to see how this team handles their recent success out of the friendly confines of Loud City. This is a good team to test your skills on the road against, a team we have actually defeated. Nevertheless, watchout! We've gotten confident playing so well at home, and the Thunder should be reminded that they are in no position to underestimate anyone. If the Bobcats can beat the Celtics, the T-Wolves can certainly take care of the team with the worst record in the league at home.
Backstory: The good news: we won a game. The bad news: they saw their 23 point lead crumble to as little as 2 points. I gotta say, I didn't see much of this one. Flipping the channels I saw how much the Thunder were winning by and decided that I'd rather watch the Flood Bowl between Ball State and the lovable Tulsa Golden Hurricane. God they were soaked. Anyway, so I eventually flipped back and all of a sudden they were only up 4. I think this goes back to what I was saying earlier. For the first time this season we get to see how the Thunder handle prosperity, and I think that second half might have been a preview of it. It is a typical characteristic of a young team, and it just may spell doom for them tonight.
Match-Ups:
Sebastian Telfair vs. Russell Westbrook
Edge: Westbrook
The rookie phenom should be able to have success vs. this team. His decision making has greatly improved recently, though I still wouldn't say he has the PG IQ of Chris Paul or anything.
Randy Foye vs. Desmond Mason
Edge:Foye
Some may be surprised by his production this season. Averages 14.7 points and 4.8 assists, albeit for the Timberwolves
Ryan Gomes vs. Kevin Durant
Edge: KD
KD is going to win this match-up every time, I don't care how many defibrillators Ryan has!
Kevin Love vs. Jeff Green
Edge: Green
What is love love love??? Well, the rookie is getting decent numbers, but he's got nothing on Jeff Green
Al Jefferson vs. Robert Swift
Edge: Jefferson
At last, a match-up where the Thunder get dominated. Krstic where are you!
Battle of the Benches
Edge:Timberwolves
Rashad McCants, Rodney Carney, and of course THE Mike Miller push the Timberwolves to a win in this category
Coaching and Intangibles
Edge: Thunder
Yeah, they're hot. But can this young team keep up the good work on the road. We'll see
Player to Watch:This is the kind of a game where the Thunder will need veteran leadership to pull them through. That's why tonight's player to watch is none other than Mr. AARP himself Joe Smith. Just kidding Zorgon.
God of Thunder's Pick:Despite feeling that the this is a trap game for the Thunder, God of Thunder is going to go out on a limb and say that they'll pull this one through. Thunder 97 Timberwolves 93
