Meet the newest member of your Oklahoma City Thunder...Chucky Atkins! Just now, it was announced that the Thunder traded the lovable Frenchie Johan Petro for Denver point guard Chucky Atkins. Perhaps more importantly, the Thunder will acquire the Nuggets first round pick in exchange of the Thunder's second round pick.
As Zorgon once said, Johan Petro may have been the team's "most entertaining player." I suppose it does make sense, as the center position was getting crowded with the recent signing of Nenad Krstic. Trading for Atkins may also mean moving Earl Watson later in the season, perhaps even packaging him with Chris Wilcox. It's a good trade in terms of the draft too. I mean, Denver's first round pick isn't much, but I'd take it instead of a second rounder any day.
Chucky Atkins has been a borderline starter to key reserve for most of his career. Perhaps most notably he was the starting point guard for the Lakers during the 2004-05 season. Here is his career number curtosey Wikipedia
