At least a few moderatle signifficant trade rumblings have emerged that call for the Thunder trading for Phoenix All-Star Amare Stoudemire. Most of these reports have the Thunder parting ways with veteran big man Joe Smith, the young Jeff Green, and either Desmond Mason or Chris Wilcox, most likely Wilcox due to Mason's injury. This trade, if it were to happen, would give the Thunder one of the better post players in the world as well as an exciting, proven veteran. In my opinion, Amare is a top 3 NBA in-game dunker, maybe even the best. The Thunder would lose two big men, who quite honestly, though talented, don't really contribute that much to the team on a nightly basis. The tough part though, is giving up Jeff Green, a player who's on track for an All-Star game in the next 4 seasons.

I don't really have any big beefs with this deal. Hold on Thunder fans, I know a lot of you are about to bring up the chemistry. I agree with you, there is amazing potnetial for the "Big 3." Still, I don't know how you go wrong with Amare freakin' Stoudemire. He missed an entire season, people thought he'd never come back from that. He did. People thought his numbers would go down after D'Antoni left. They didn't. You'd think he'd at least be able to survive a trade.
These are two teams going in opposite directions. The Thunder are sky rocketing towards the playoffs, they may even get there by next season. The Suns are slowly plumeting out of the big picture, one bad Steve Kerr decision at a time. I'm not saying that Sam Presti must pull the trigger on this deal, I think we'd be just fine if we stood with Green. Still, if this were to happen, I could see a 6th seeded Thunder team by next year.
