Now that the festivities are over and the NBA season is set to resume, it's time to look at the results of the contest between Blue Blitz, Daily Thunder, and Welcome to Loud City.
The correct predictions are in bold, and the score at the time of the event will be put in parinthesis.
Friday:
Celebrity All-Star Game MVP: (Participants)
Okluschen: Terrell Owens (1)
Pappagiorgio: Terrell Owens (1)
Royce: Clyde Drexler (0)
Zorgon: Rick Fox (0)
Comments: This one was a no-brainer, as Terrell Owens was the only current mens professional athlete on the floor. The old NBA guys looked terrible, the actors were just actors, and the WNBA stars were overpowered. It was a bit unfair to have Terrell on the floor, has he was the wildcard for one team, and Chris Tucker was the wildcard for the other. Well, at least he was funny. The best moment of the game was at the end when Clyde Drexler tried to pull an Alley-Oop and just ended up floundering. The high moment for the old guys was probably an open Rick Fox 3 (after he missed 3 open 3s prior).
Rookie-Sophomore Game Winner:
Okluschen: Rookies (1)
Pappagiorgio: Sophomores (2)
Royce: Sophomores (1)
Zorgon: Rookies (0)
Comments: The Rookies almost pulled it off this time on the back of some excellent Eric Gordon shooting. But, Kevin Durant simply wouldn't have it and completely torched everyone else in this game. Hats off.
Rookie-Sophomore Game MVP: (Rosters)
Okluschen: Marc Gasol (1)
Pappagiorgio: Kevin Durant (3)
Royce: Rodney Stuckey (1)
Zorgon: Greg Oden * IF Not Playing due to injury, Marc Gasol (0)
Comments: Pappagiorgio establishes a solid lead here as he goes with the solid pick. I had to make an emergency pick before the game, but it was still fruitless.
Saturday:
G-E-I-C-O (H-O-R-S-E) Winner: (Participants)
Okluschen: Joe Johnson (1)
Pappagiorgio: Kevin Durant (4)
Royce: Kevin Durant (2)
Zorgon: Orange Juice Mayonnaise (0)
Comments: Zorgon continues his historic "0-fer" while Pappagiorgio looks like he might have locked up the title at this point. Not much else to say other than Kevin Durant is the bomb and the HORSE trophy was the worst trophy I've ever seen.
Haier Shooting Stars Winner: (Participants)
Okluschen: Pistons (2)
Pappagiorgio: Spurs (4)
Royce: Spurs (2)
Zorgon: Spurs (0)
Comments: Okluschen wins with the surprise pick, mainly because Phoenix cheated their way into the second round and San Antonio never got a shot. Why? Dan Majerle was way over the line.
Playstation Skills Challenge Winner: (Participants)
Okluschen: Devin Harris (2)
Pappagiorgio: Derrick Rose (5)
Royce: Tony Parker (2)
Zorgon: Devin Harris (0)
Comments: Pappagiorgio continues to be the master of the All-Star game as the guy everyone picked to win the competition won the competition. Derrick Rose really had the skills out there while Tony Parker just embarassed himself, thinking he made a pass, starting to run, and then realising the ball didn't go in the hole. It was also funny when the ball boy got in the way of Mo Williams and caused him to lose to Devin Harris.
Foot Locker 3-Point-Shootout Winner: (Participants)
Okluschen: Danny Granger (2)
Pappagiorgio: Roger Mason, Jr. (5)
Royce: Jason Kapono (2)
Zorgon: Mike Bibby (0)
Comments: Daequan Cook surprises everybody, and even though we all picked different winners, we all lost. The shooters were horrible, and there were way too many missed shots.
Sprite Slam Dunk Competition Winner: (Participants)
Okluschen: J.R. Smith (2)
Pappagiorgio: Dwight Howard (5)
Royce: J.R. Smith (2)
Zorgon: Nate Robinson (1)
Comments: Pappagiorgio locks up the title here, but I finally put up some points on the board in garbage time. More importantly, I predicted that Nate Robinson would dunk over Dwight Howard. Heres the exact wording, "Nate Robinson is a little ball of muscle, and it will be huge fun watching him dunk, especially against Dwight Howard. In fact, he should dunk over Dwight Howard." Yeah, boi! I may have gotten dead last so far, but, in this case, my exact predicting was spot on. Too bad Rudy Fernandez got robbed.
Sunday:
All-Star Game Winner:
Okluschen: West (3)
Pappagiorgio: East (5)
Royce: East (2)
Zorgon: East (1)
Comments: Not much to say here, as the game wasn't really competetive and the East just kinda gave up in the 4th.
All-Star Game MVP: (Rosters)
Okluschen: Pau Gasol (3)
Pappagiorgio: Dwayne Wade (5)
Royce: LeBron James (2)
Zorgon: Shaquille O'Neal (2)
Comments: I totally pulled an awesome answer out of the clutch. If this were a basketball game, it would be like performing an alley-oop over Shawn Bradley and pounding my fist, even though Pappagiorgio was up 20 with 1:35 to go. Then, if you take into consideration that I picked the East to win (a team which Shaq was not on), it's like getting called for a technical foul afterwards. Still, I'll miss the most entertaining player on the floor (if this is his last All-Star Game), and I'm really glad Shaq co-won the MVP.
Tiebreaker:
Predict the total score of the All-Star Game:
Okluschen: 236
Pappagiorgio: 279
Royce: 257
Zorgon: 244
Actual Score: 265
Comments: It doesn't matter, since this doesn't count for points, but Royce was the closest, being only 8 points off. This also puts him ahead of me in the standings.
Final Standings:
1. Pappagiorgio (Welcome to Loud City): 5 Correct
2. Okluschen (Blue Blitz): 3 Correct
3. Royce (Daily Thunder): 2 Correct (Won Tiebreaker)
4. Zorgon (Blue Blitz): 2 Correct
So, Blue Blitz gets owned on its home floor, and Pappagiorgio goes home the All-Star Champion. Congratulations man, you earned the belt!

(Before you ask, yes, thats about as good as my photoshop skills get.)
